Hair color problems!! Please Help!?

My natural hair color is medium brown- i went to a hair dresser to get my hair highlighted, i wanted a golden/honey brown. Instead she put a red highlights in my hair.. it doesn't even look natural. when i got home my mom got loreal excellence creme medium brown and tried to cover the red. it looks a little better but i really want my natural hair color back. I DONT want to dye it again or do anything chemically to it. How long does it take for the red to go away and is there anything that can speed the process to get rid of it??? thanx

If any permanent color was used it will never go away until your hair grows out, nor will the highlights themselves. If your hairstylist used a semi or demi toner over the highlights, that will fade in about six weeks.

Your options are either a complete color correction which is very expensive and without guaranteed results, or keep toning over the highlights every few weeks until your outgrowth catches up with your hair length or lastly, a hair cut.

There are no products on the market that can speed this process up and I do not recommend any further chemical treatments at this point.

No, it will have to grow out.

If you wont do anything chemicallly to it no sorry!! It will probly take about 5 months mabey more!! But if you use a color stripper it will go away that day.

shampoo will help it fade faster, i would dye it brown one shade darker than your natural. Then it will blend as it grows out.

Well, fortunately reds fade faster than any other color. If you dont want to do anything chemically you will just have to wait until it fades. You can try a shampoo that may help it to fade faster. Try the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo.
