Permanent hair color on bleached hair?

my natural hair color is dark brown,colored it black months ago.I bleached only the bottom of my hair days ago.Did not leave bleach long enough,so my hair looks orange.wanted my hair lighter so i can color it purple.can i lighten my hair with a permanent hair color instead of bleaching it again?

I would not bleach it again. That would be too damaging. However, I don't think you will be able to go from orangy hair to purple. They are exact opposites on the color wheel, and hair color results from a combination of the current shade and the dye used. You could lighten it without bleach. Definitely use an ash tone to minimize, and hopefully eliminate, the orange. It will need to be a permanent dye. You will want to use a lighter shade then the color you are going for. Revlon Colorist and certain shades of Feria offer hi-lift lightening, without bleaching. Good luck.

you dont have to bleach it again just color it.. But your hair is taking a beating with bleaching.. I have dark brown hair too and bleached it,, my hair was so dry with split ends,, be careful
