Before you dye it again, go to a hairdresser and get it dyed the 1st time properly. Then about 6 weeks after that go again and have your roots done. When you have been a few times, then use a dye called Nice and Easy. You will find it on Ebay

your hair has so much red in it , that going surfer blonde will only be achieved with bleaching. Regular dyes do not lift the color up far enough. You really need professional advice on that. They need to look at your natural hair. No, it will not come out the color you want. Very possible that you can have it highlighted to get sandy streaks, but that will still involve bleaching the highlighted strands first. TRUST ME.....

Hmmm. Not a real good idea to bleach dark dyed hair. In my senior year there was a red haired boy in my sewing class who had dyed his hair a dark color and then decided he didn't lke it and tried to bleach it. The result. His hair turned a very strange shade of green. Now I was punk rockin' back in the day so I thought green hair was the thing but this guys hair just looked like @$$. You have to strip the old color before you lighten or bleach or the same thing could happen to you. I am in a similar situation. Now my natural hair color is a sandy off black/brown. I dye my hair a lighter shade of brown. Well in a pinch I bought a cheap brown hair dye I had never tried before and it dyed my hair completely jet black. I look like an old @$$, over the hill wanna be goth chick. Barf. So now I got this product called Color Oops that removes the dye molecules from your hair and returns it to its natural color so you can redye it the color you want. I only just used it right before writing this and I am happy to report that it works miraculously. My hair is now back to the lovely medium nutmeg brown I love and originally desired. Not a strand of black is left in it. The instructions say it only works if you've dyed your hair a darker color than your natural color. So it won't reverse a bleachng process but after using ths product to remove dark dye you will be able to bleach or lighten without your hair turning green. I assume from your use of the word ginger to describe your hair color that you are not from the U.S.. I don't know if Color Oops is available outside the U.S. but you can visit their website at: www.developlus.com. There you can find out where their products are sold. If you'd like to try it and it is not avaialble where you are try ebaY. That's where I purchased mine. Of course you can always just go to a salon and have a stylist remove the old color for you. It's more expensive but you don't want to end up with hair the color of the oxidation on a copper penny. That just isn't attractive. Good luck.
