Hair Dilema please help, What can I do?

I have been getting highlights in my hair for the past year now. But the past few months I haven't been able to afford them as me and my fiance have just got a house. My roots are now about 1-2inches long and I hate it.

Can I buy a home dye kit to turn my hair back to brown again as this would be easier until I can afford to start going again. I've heard that because parts of my hair are highlighted even when I dye it they will still be lighter than my natural hair.

Hair Dilema please help, What can I do?

Hi,you can try.Good Luck

Hair Dilema please help, What can I do?

only bit of advice i have - whatever you do DONT use sun-in as a cheap fix.

seriously.

dont do it.

ever.

Hair Dilema please help, What can I do?

You could try getting the hair dye that eva longoria advertises on tv where you get a second colour and mini brush thing, and put in your own highlights, then no one will be able to tell the difference!

Hair Dilema please help, What can I do?

It will be lighter as you've stripped your own hair of it's colour but you won't have the terrible roots and it will take about 6 - 8 weeks until it needs doing again and it won't look that bad. Rather than highlights have you though about having what the hair dresser calls a semi-permenant colour? This can be matched up to your darker colour to even it out. It does wash out and the first time you have it you will find it doesn't last as long EG: 6 weeks but after having them 2 or 3 times it will last up to 10 or even 12 weeks. You can only go darker or brighter though so no highlights. It's cheaper and not as damaging and is like the ones you buy in the shops but will last longer and look shiner. Not sure how much your salon charges but say if you pay 鎷?0 now, for the colour alone, then you may only pay about 鎷?0. Don't forget that you don't have to have it cut or dried to have it done and the hairdressers. They won't be offended if you say you only want the colour and not the other things.

Hair Dilema please help, What can I do?

If i were you i would call into a salon and ask their advice, tell them your problem and ask what you can do. They are usually very good at giving you free advice, especially if it is the salon you normally get your highlights done at, as they know you will go back when it is convenient financially..

Hair Dilema please help, What can I do?

I am not a hairdresser but I would be reluctant to do it yourself. Depending if the highlights have been chemically treated or not, you will need a professional colourist to change your hair colour back to your own natural shade. Apparently it is done in stages and red has to be added back first. Doing it yourself could result in your hair going a shade of green... (Past experience).

If you can't afford it at the moment, is it long enough to put up? Or you can those mascara wands that add colour but wash out easily...

I would try and make the most of it until you can go to a hairdresser........ Good luck...

How soon can I recolor my hair after a bad hair job?

Ok...so I colored my hair with a supposed dark brown, my hair is naturally dark brown, but I have been coloring it for several years light brown, well I decided to go back to natural color and went an got clairol color 131 dark brown...it looked great on the box and looke to be my natural hair color, well I put it in and left it for 25 min and got in the shower...umm well w/ my skin tone and eye color...well lets just say I look like a young witch....yea I have black hair...not that black hair is bad, I like it on certain ppl, but me? NOPE it aint my thang....HELP!!!...So tonight after the bad hairjob I went and got a medium golden brown color117...when can I use it....??? I have to work and be somewhere this weeken and I need to look good, PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

How soon can I recolor my hair after a bad hair job?

Look, hair dye is harmful to hair, so just cool you jets for now, okay? When all done and summed up, hair is just hair, and it could be worse. It's simply not your colour. To avoid the harshness and 'witch'-like look, get some sidebangs and wear you hair up in a ponny or clipped up with the bangs down... sort of a messy look, if you like it. Wait a couple of months and then think of recolouring. You'll have to bleach though.

If you really hate this colour, maybe you need to try a colour stripper? But, I'm telling you. Everything that works to get rid of dark colours will MURDER you hair. Like... MASACRE. Just toughten it out, it'll be back to normal in no time ;)

How soon can I recolor my hair after a bad hair job?

wait for a few more months before doing anything

How Can I get my hair up without hair products?

I don't like having my hair all stiff. But I want my hair to like point up. My hair naturaly is down, and I don't like it, but I hate puting gel on because it makes my hair soo stiff. I have this wax but i don't want my hair like oily and wet either.

My hair is dark dark brown and thick. Is there a certain conditioner to use?

If this can't be done naturaly, can someone reccomend me a NATURAL hair product that won't damage my hair?

How Can I get my hair up without hair products?

Try skipping the conditioner and blow dry your hair upside down - that made my hair stand up on its own when I had short hair.

Is permed and colored hair healthy hair?

a lot of people say that permed and colored hair isn't healthy because of the chemicals. they say that the chemicals alter the natural hair curl in ones hair and strip it to make it straight. is any of this true. i've heard all kinds of stuff, like perms give people cancer. i was wondering if perms are as damaging as i hear. some people say they permed their hair so long and tried to get their hair to grow back without a perm and their hair is balding, and coarser, but doesn't hair change over time? i'm confused.

Is permed and colored hair healthy hair?

Bleaching, perming and straightening severely damage your hair. But it does grow back. As you get older the coarseness of your hair changes.

Is permed and colored hair healthy hair?

I had very long hair that I colored a lot and I just had to have about 6 inches taken off of it due to color damage...I have very thick naturally curly hair and while it never took the curl out, the over-processing made it dull, dry, and frizzy...

Now the thing is, I was using at-home hair color, and from what the stylist told me, this is worse then having it professionally done, because they use better quality chemicals. I never trusted this before because I just figured they were trying to sell me an expensive salon color job, and I just stuck to the cheap store bought stuff. But this girl that told me this recently works in a salon that does not do color, so I would have to assume it's really true.

I recommend what the stylist told me. If you have your hair colored or permed, have it professionally done, and have it maintenanced only as often as you have to.

Plan to pro drastically dye my hair to my sister's dark brown hair color.can the stylist do tha

I have had my hair professionaly highlighted before and then at home dyed. Both times blonde. My natural hair is dark blonde/light brown. It still has the pro and at home colors in it. Is my hair gonna get any brassy or orange color? And also does dying your hair change the natural color of your hair and will it get severly damaged?

Plan to pro drastically dye my hair to my sister's dark brown hair color.can the stylist do that exact color?

If you go to a good hairdresser they should get an exact match, Take your sister with you =)

I doubt you'll get a brassy effect if you have a professional do it, And no dying your hair does not change your natural colour, but yes it can get severly damaged.. I wouldn't worry about damage unless you get it dyed all the time.

Remeber, Your natural colour is usually the most flattering for your skin type.

Plan to pro drastically dye my hair to my sister's dark brown hair color.can the stylist do that exact color?

Hi - This type of color is called "Color Correction" It takes a specialist in color to restore your hair to its natural color when you've had highlights. In most cases the reality will be that it will be close to, but not totally, your natural brown. Nature will show you that the hair underneath is always slightly darker than the hair on top, thats because the sun lightens the hair on top. So when you darken the hair on top it will always be slightly lighter than the hair underneath. You will not be one solid perfect shade of brown throughout. Repeated coloring of the hair does alter the condition of your hair. But don't worry there are plenty of good professional products available to keep it from frying out. Good luck!

Tips on going Natural?

I hate to relax my hair!! It's been going on far too long. How should I transition? Is natural hair care just as expensive as relaxed hair care? ( I hate salons, and I hate to have other people do my hair). THX!

Tips on going Natural?

if your hair is relaxed, just let the perm(or relaxer)just ease itself out of your hair. within 3 0r 6 months the relaxer should ease itself out of your hair.also keep your conditioned and put an hot oil treatment in your hair to keep it healthy.

I wanna dye my hair...tomorrow so i need answers!?

okay well i dotn knwo what to do because i got highlights awhile back and well i tried getting my hair done before to get it dark brown but it just went straight to light....my natural hair color which is like a natural light brown....is coming in...but i wanna dye my hair dark brown again....and people are telling me that if i do dye my hair that its going to go even lighter then before because of the highlights....what do i do?!

I wanna dye my hair...tomorrow so i need answers!?

Here's the deal. You have hilights which when you color your hair dark will eventually wash out of them. The reason why your hair seems to get lighter eventually after going dark is because it is artificial pigment and even though it may be a "permanent" hair dye it still will fade over time. The reason it sometimes gets even lighter than your natural hair color when it fades is that hair dye uses peroxide and ammonia that can remove some of your natural pigment even though your went darker. After the artificial dye fades your natural is left and is lighter as a result. Try using color (assuming you are doing this yourself) that says low or no ammonia or a semi permanent. Keep in mind that Semi permanent hair colors tend to look darker since they coat your hair and pick a shade lighter than what you think you want.

I wanna dye my hair...tomorrow so i need answers!?

Wait a while for the highlights to grow out, or if ur in a hurry, dye it and see what happens. Use temp tye so if the color isn't right you can rinse it out.

Any hair dying info and tips?

I have been wanting to dye my hair and already know what color I want. I have been told that once I dye it, I have to keep dying it since the roots will come out my natural hair color and it will look weird and patchy. Do I really have to stick with the same color my whole life? Can I do anything about the roots and get my natural hair color back when I want it?

I'd really like some helpful info and tips. Thanks.

Any hair dying info and tips?

Once you 'color' your hair, it's best to do touch-ups when your roots come in. It's not pretty looking at say, a red-head when her dark brunette roots are coming in.

No, you do not have to stick with the same color, you can color your hair whatever colors you want, but, it will be difficult to get your natural hair color back. You can color it back to your natural color, but, you will have to repeat the process a lot b/c your hair will not hold the color in. Basically, if you want your natural hair color back after bleaching, for example, you will either have to repeat the coloring process maybe every 6 weeks or so, or wait for your hair to grow out. If you don't have the money to upkeep your hair, I suggest coloring your hair to something close to your natural hair color now. A little lighter doesn't hurt, and people will notice the lighter color.

Any hair dying info and tips?

You don't have to do the same color every time. You can use a root touch up when your hair begins to grow out.

If you are not sure what color you want use a temporary color to start with. It will only last 2-3 weeks, but you can tell if you like it before going permanent. Once you start using permanent color it takes a while to get you natural color back.

Choose a dye that has conditioner and use a shampoo for color treated hair.

Any hair dying info and tips?

you can switch it up. I due mine lighter in the summer time %26amp; a shade or two darker in the winter. As far as how often to dye it; it depends on how fast your hair grows. Most people can go 6-8 weeks. There is a root-dye kit made by clairol that's supposed to be pretty good-my mom uses it. When you get ready to get it back to your natural color just dye it a color that really blends in well with your natural color.

Good luck.

Any hair dying info and tips?

I've been dying my hair since 5th grade! So For a while, for a while i was dying it blonde, then i recently changed to brown. But If your dying your hair a darker color and then want to go back to a lighter color, bleach your hair (not using actual bleach) Or you could get a Malibu treatment. You don't HAVE to keep dying it, some people don't mind the roots showing, sometimes its not all that weird. It Really depends on what you like/want.

Have fin dying your hair! I hope you like it!

Any hair dying info and tips?

Yes you will get the roots showing through once your hair grows but only if you use a permanent hair dye. As for weird %26amp; patchy it will only look this way if you do not apply it evenly. I gather you are going to do this yourself %26amp; not use a hairdresser....there are so many good hair dyes on the market these days that can be used at home %26amp; very easy to use...just like shampooing!! Try a semi permanent dye that washes out after 8-10 washes, you will not get root growth because the colour will fade gradually with each wash, plus if you don't like the colour you can change it!!! Good luck!!

Any hair dying info and tips?

I only dye mine to get rid of the gray, and I dye it my natural color of dark brown, so no root prob. except gray. But when the roots start showing through and you're still wanting the same color, you only need to color the roots. You can do this by using your original dye.

Coloring over highlighted hair?

I had my hair highlighted about 2 months ago. The roots are coming in my natural brown hair color. Should I use a blonde hair color to fill in the roots or should I use my natural hair color? Or what else should I do?

Coloring over highlighted hair?

is your highlights Blond? If they are just put it on the roots, If it's another color put that on...Unless you want to take the highlights out, then use your natural hair color

Coloring over highlighted hair?

neither, go to a professional and they can do it for you, do not attempt at home or it will look blotchy

Coloring over highlighted hair?

Re-highlight.

Coloring over highlighted hair?

I have naturally dark brown hair with honey highlights. A month ago I found a picture of a dark brown slightly red cast color. The hairdresser put it on and at first it was very dark but after a few weeks has washed/faded out to a great color that is exactly what I wanted. The highlights come through the color and glow. There are no root touch ups like with blond and is less damaging.

Perming the hair?

I had hair loss due to my anorexia and low iron 13 years ago i could not figure out the problem so i was laft with areas on the crown where scalp shows.I have had 4 perms already they would give good body to my hair i have always managed to keep the curls nice and conditioned naver lost hair with perms and the hair which grow back are always healthy like my natural hair.I am 31 so it is hard to move around with scanty hair.Is it ok if i get a perm again.someone said it will kill your follicles is it true?

Perming the hair?

It sounds like you and the perm are just not meant to be.

Stop perming your hair.

If you want curly hair, try using a curling shampoo or roller set your hair or use a curling iron.

There are tons of ways to get curly hair w/o a perm. Talk to a professional stylist about your other options.

Perming the hair?

it does not kill your follicles, too many perms will only cause hair breakage. Also hair loss after anorexia grows back and when iron levels are back to normal. Your hair loss is most likely from genetics or hormones or another medical reason.

There are many trendy hairstyles that can help to cover your thin areas or hair bonding. Perms have been out of style for a long time except the 80 year old ladies who refuse to stop getting a perm every 4-6 weeks.

I just permanently dyed my hair jet black and I'm really regretting it. What can I do?

Okay so I used permanent dye to dye my hair jet black, and I'm regretting it cos I think it's too daring for me.

I'm Asian, but my natural hair colour is dark brown. Would colour remover help? Note my natural hair colour. Would it damage my hair?

Please help. Oh and I don't want to bleach my hair or dye it in any other colour.

I just permanently dyed my hair jet black and I'm really regretting it. What can I do?

I had this problem. I dyed my hair too bright and I'm Asian.

I dyed my hair back to black the next day. But I would really not recommend that because your hair becomes very fragile for a while.

If you have patience, wait for a few weeks and then redye your hair.

I just permanently dyed my hair jet black and I'm really regretting it. What can I do?

I would just forget about bleaching it it will make your hair worse. Its very damaging. Try putting some highlights in your hair to lighten it. You don't want to put to much chemicals. In a week you will get used to it anyways.

I just permanently dyed my hair jet black and I'm really regretting it. What can I do?

if you dont mind waiting a little, itll naturally fade away the more you shampoo.

im asian too, and ive done this many times. at least for me, black hair never seems to last more than a month. it always fades away.

I just permanently dyed my hair jet black and I'm really regretting it. What can I do?

If theres a Sally beauty supply near where you live go in and ask for advice. they have really helped me a few times and they arent at all expensive.

I just permanently dyed my hair jet black and I'm really regretting it. What can I do?

Find a Sally Beauty Supply near you and ask for a color remover. Also go down the color aisle and pick out the closest color to your natural hair color and get that also....color removers say they don't change the natural hair color but they do! Or you could do a strand test with the color remover somewhere on your head and see what color your hair turns out after lets say 10-12 minutes, instead of 30 min to 45 min as the product asks you to leave it on.....your not looking to go back to blond your just looking to get the black out. A good semi-permanent hair color at Sally is Radiance by Clairol....match it up to your natural color.....these colors tend to be darker than what you thought you picked but.....remember this is a semi -permanent color and will wash down, and is much better for your hair......

I just permanently dyed my hair jet black and I'm really regretting it. What can I do?

Go buy Colour Oops, it works wonders!

I've used it to get my color out, and it wont damage your hair.

When you wash the color remover out, you wont be satisfied with the control, im guessing, so you gotta dye over it again lol.

Heres what it looks like.....

Good luck!

I just permanently dyed my hair jet black and I'm really regretting it. What can I do?

No, You etheir just have to recolor it, Or Let it come out on its own...But it's not permanet, Eventally after a few weeks of washing your hair it'll come out.

Color remover won't work, It's only usually used for Non Permanet color, like spray in.

I want to start dying my hair at home, any suggestions?

So about every 6-8 weeks I go and get my hair highlighted and touched up. Im 25 years old with a ton of gray hair!!! So i go and get light then highlights, just on the top part of my hair.

Well every time I do that it's about $125.00. I would really like to start saving money and do this at home? Is it worth it? I just want to go back to my natural hair color. I would love to save the money.

So can I just dye my hair at home with the natural hair color (Dark brown) and will it take me back to that plus my light high lights? My highlights are not htick at all. They are very thin and stringy.

So should I do it here at home and it will be ok, or should I go to the salon?

Im just so scared something will go wrong here at my house and it will cost a lot more when I arrive at the salon.

Many thanks! I am ery grateful for your answers!

I want to start dying my hair at home, any suggestions?

You can always use semi-permanent (that is to say, it washes out) hair dye to experiment. It will be difficult to match your original hair color, but you may be happy just to darken your streaky bits so they blend in a bit better. Just remember that ashy browns help tone down reds, while reds sometimes fade to blonde, so you mightn't like to have a reddish-brown, either.

Another option would be to go to a health-food store, Akin's for example, and buy a henna and indigo - they have pre-mixed boxes, I think, to help with the correct shade. The henna part of the mixture will never fade entirely, but the indigo will wash out eventually, so that's a good way to test too, without chemicals that damage your hair.

I want to start dying my hair at home, any suggestions?

yea home dye is good, it works..but just remember when u are picking out colours it always turns darker than it looks on the packet,

I want to start dying my hair at home, any suggestions?

Use bleach to get light streaks

I want to start dying my hair at home, any suggestions?

You should wait until you have roots to dye or color your hair. Enlist the help of a friend. You can buy a store type of hair color if there are not any wholesalers in your area that sell to non licenced professionals. read the directions carefully. find a color that is similar to the color of your new color. Fold your hair to the side in layers and have your friend just put product on the root area. do not color your whole head. You will lose the effect of your expensive highlights. normal time to cover gray is about 35 minutes. good luck

I want to start dying my hair at home, any suggestions?

hellobabe;)

i have recently died at my home,

as i was sick of spending so much time getting it touched up at salons and stuff.

either use garniers new one which is like 鎷?.97, thats really easy to use and the colour is great.

Bec D is right. Use a medium brown or a medium ashe brown. I have dark brown hair and when I used a dark brown my hair turned black. Always go one shade lighter.

hey... i know how ya feel... i am 25 also and have a good bit of grey... but my suggestion is...DONT USE AT HOME DYES!! they are metallic and extrmely bad for you hair... and theres a pretty good chance that with the way you get your hair done and want it to be, you will have a lot of orange... and it hard to correct at home dye problems even in a salon.

if you just really really dont wanna go to a professional, go to your salon, and ask them if they will sell you a lil of the color and the highlight they use on your hair... i have done this before, and as long as youre careful and let the hair stylist instruct you a lil, it should work fine.....just steer clear of the "at home" stuff.... i worked at a salon and was a cosmetology apprentice and i cant tell ya how many times ppl came in wanting to correct at home jobs... and yes, it will cost more than when ya started.... i have even often seen when women use a light at home color, for highlights, and their hair has a gren tinge to it....it doesnt look good.

good luck and hope it all works.

your stylist will prolly sell it to you if its someone you go to regularly... depending on how much product you want, it should cost around $20- $40... they prolly wont sell it to you completely at cost, but at least your still savin a good bit of money.

Carol's Daughter Hair Products?

Are they as good for hair growth on relaxed hair as they say they are for natural hair?

I hear Jada uses it, but is her hair natural does anyone know?

Carol's Daughter Hair Products?

I do not recommend Carol's Daughter for relaxed hair. I bought and used the Rosemary Mint Herbal Shampoo (For dry hair -detangling forumula) and the Tui Hair Smoothie. I also bought the Tui Leave in Conditioner and Lisa Hair Elixir. The shampoo - hardened and tangled my hair (I have non-course shoulder length hair). Luckily I still had my Kera Care hydrating shampoo. So i had to go behind Carol's Daughter with the Kera Care shampoo which softened and detangled my hair immediately. Now I decided to give Carol's Daughter another shot and washed my hair again the following week with the same disappointing results. The Tui Hair Smoothie was okay but again I had to follow-up with my Kera Care products. Again I am only speaking from my experience; others may have had great results using this product. I did not - I was very disappointed and mad at myself for getting caught up in the hype. I switch betweeen Kera Care Hydrating Products and some Aveda Products (i.e. Smooth Infusion is new and good - similar to Kera Care's Hydrating product line - Aveda's Damage Remedy line is also good). Kera Care and Aveda are both good for black hair growth.

Carol's Daughter Hair Products?

A girl at my job using it and LOVES it, it's a little pricey but she has beautiful hair. She says that it last a long time because you don't have to use awhole lot.

Carol's Daughter Hair Products?

i dont like it on my relaxed hair ends, only on my new browth i guess its because its made for natural hair. i spent 70 buck on the stuff and the only thing i use is the shampoo.on my daughter i use the hair milk, lisa's elixer. and some other oil i bought. although she has fine hair. it keeps her hair moisturized and groomed.

Ughhh hair probemmmm!!!! HELP.?

i just dyed my hair dirty blonde with bergondy hilights but the hilihts arent that noticible. %26amp;my natural hair color is semi-dark brown. %26amp; i hate my new hair color, i dont have enough money to get my hair redyed and i cant buy the self-do ones.(my mom wont let me) what do i do... %26amp; the lady cut it tooo short

I MISS MY LONG BRUNETTE HAIR. what do i do.

Ughhh hair probemmmm!!!! HELP.?

That sucks! :(

I feel bad for you because something similar has happened to me too.

I honestly don't have an immediate safe solution for you, but please read the rest of my answer...

My natural hair color is sort of semi-dark brown too.

For a drama, i was made to use a green dye with a promise that i will have my hair color back as soon as possible. But the dye cost too much so i had to live with green hair.

I still have green hair. What i do is that i try to get used to it.

I try to think that my hair is cool green. I try to "appreciate" my dumb hair. Whats worse, now my hair has lost some green color so it looks more like are cheap green color (lizard green, i guess).

Thats enough about me, now lets move to you. What you could do is try to like your new hair while saving up money for dyeing it semi-darkbrown again. Try to appretiate your new hair.

I know it is impossible and that I can never understand but this is the way i avoided suffering over my hair's weird color.

Appretiating your new hair will help you not feel too sad over your new hair color, and after you save up enough, you can have the semi-dark brown color again :).

Besides, after you save enough money to have your semi-dark brown hair back, your hair will grow and will be long again.

And look at it this way, when your hair is short, you could entertain yourself by curling some locks. Blond locks look really sexy.

My solution will take more than 4 months at least, but it will keep you satisfied and you WILL end up with long, semi-dark brown hair again.

I wish i had my semi-dark brown hair back.

Cheers, Sam :)

Ughhh hair probemmmm!!!! HELP.?

What is a good hair relaxer for African Americans?

You see Iv'e been using this hair care system (The Hair Doctor) and it has really made my hair grow. I haven't relaxed my hair in about 5 months. (Been wearing a wig) I would like to have my hair relaxed but I 'm not sure what product to use. I've been to salons before and even though my hair gets strait a lot of times I get scabs in my hair. My natural hair is so tightly coiled pressing it would be a waist of time. (if it rains or if I sweat)

What is a good hair relaxer for African Americans?

I have the same problem, my hair is natural its very tightly curled and I'm wearing a wig now.

Mizani and Affirm are the BEST products on the market for black hair

My dermatologist recommended Affirm that's what she uses. Use Nexus conditioner its the best. As for the scabs DO NOT scratch your scalp before a relaxer.

Try and find a salon were they focus on healthy hair, many black salons are so focused on the hair doo they damage your hair in the process.

your african? im black plus my great grandfathe was half cherokee use this hair relaxer it has olive in it or whatever and it makes my hair not thick anymore almost like a white person well maybe because of my great grandfather and the difference of african and black people is that black people have 1 or a few white ancestors but if you have a white father or daddy and a white mama or daddy then that's called mixed i just wanted to get that out there!

What is a good hair relaxer for African Americans?

first of all..black..african...same indifference and number two why would african americans wanna use hair relaxers?...dat can damage their hair even more.

What is a good hair relaxer for African Americans?

well i have a good grade of hair so i don't need a strong relaxer but i use Hawaiian silky, but since u said urs is tightly coiled then i would suggest u start off with a African pride its not to strong just cuz its African then gradually keep relaxing ur hair bout every 6wks. the reason u get scabs is because ur scalp is irritated due to scratching or something i hope this helps u

also motions work great and are good 4 ur hair both of these perms have a line of other hair care products

What is a good hair relaxer for African Americans?

first of all you need to start with a revlon relaxer to straighten out your hair really good then for the second relaxing use dark and lovely no-lye kit cream or pcj (just for me relaxer). Please bear this in mind that you need to relax your hair every 6 week, treat your hair every week and steam every 2 weeks. i can also give you my remedy. you cream of nature treatment and steam with dark and lovely ultra cholestrol conditioning treatment. clip you hair every three months.

What is a good hair relaxer for African Americans?

First you must use murrys hair and scalp treatment, then put a little hennessy in your hair. Comb and style...

What is a good hair relaxer for African Americans?

I will die by "Gentle Treatment". I have been using it for years and my daughter now uses it. It makes my hair soft and straight without the thickness of some relaxers. I don't like too much body and if I need body I will volumize or blow dry.

What is a good hair relaxer for African Americans?

If you get scabs in your hair from the shop go to a different shop but I use Raveen Lite in my daughters hair and its past her shoulders also i trim her ends after. If you do your own relaxer don't keep it in to long and start at the crown of your head, hair line last so you don't have it on to long and make the edges weaker so your hair breaks don't forget hot oil treatments and keeping your scalp clean so your hair continues to grow.protect the ends of your hair with a silk pillow case.

What is a good hair relaxer for African Americans?

Watch BET gurl.!!!:)

What is a good hair relaxer for African Americans?

I loooove Olive Oil Organic Root stimulator system! It's the best all of their products are excellent, my hair is thick so I use the super. I've never burned and I feel like I'm getting closer to my hair looking like the girl on the box :)

What is a good hair relaxer for African Americans?

I would get a perm called Optimum it's really good it gets your edges straight and everything. Good luck!

What is a good hair relaxer for African Americans?

Well the perm that i use is Affirm and i think it is the one for sensitive scalp...although i don't have one but its a start since you say you have perm burns(chemical burns)....anyway before you get a perm you have to remember NOT to scratch...if you scratch the dry skin on your scalp will come off and that is sort of a protective coat for the scalp so it wont get perm burned....also try not to comb your hair to hard...try to make sure the comb doesn't scrape your scalp...now when you get to the salon you should make sure that the beautician puts grease on your scalp before applying the perm...this acts as an extra protective coat for the scalp...oh yea and tell your beatician when your perm begins to burn...if it ever does...and oh yea.....please DONT perm your own hair...especially if you arent accoustomed to doing it...you can seriously damage your hair....PLEASE DONT!!! let the professionals do it...that is what they are there for....and you should try to go to an African American beautician simply because they might know a little more about the grain of hair you have and they might be able to help you more....

My hair is natually dirty blonde, but i've been dying it since i was little, but now i dyed it

recently and its all faded and ugly, i want my natural hair color back, but my hair stylist said that i cant just dye it from dark to light, i would have to bleach my hair and then dye it dirty blonde, which would make my hair fall out. is there any other way to naturally make my hair go back to dark blonde?

My hair is natually dirty blonde, but i've been dying it since i was little, but now i dyed it brown?

Keep your natural hair color, all the dyes arn't good for u :(

srry im a geek lol

My hair is natually dirty blonde, but i've been dying it since i was little, but now i dyed it brown?

Sorry no. You can always get a weave/ wig.

My hair is natually dirty blonde, but i've been dying it since i was little, but now i dyed it brown?

let it grow back out

My hair is natually dirty blonde, but i've been dying it since i was little, but now i dyed it brown?

It depends on how damaged your hair is now. Once when I was 19 I decided to go from blond to very dark brown - BIG mistake. I tried to strip it myself and it actually came out orange. I had a stylist fix it for me - but my hair did not fall out - I had to massively condition it all the time because it was brittle. Be careful. You can do it - but you will be dealing with very fragile hair for a while.

My hair is natually dirty blonde, but i've been dying it since i was little, but now i dyed it brown?

Just keep it clean and go outside in the sun a lot to fade out the color.

My hair is natually dirty blonde, but i've been dying it since i was little, but now i dyed it brown?

don't you know that dying ur hair a lot is really bad! And why don't u ask ur hair stylist? and for goodness sakes try using a deep hair conditioner!

My hair is natually dirty blonde, but i've been dying it since i was little, but now i dyed it brown?

Your hair dresser is right. If you were using a permanent hair dye, you will have to let it grow out, In the mean time, use a semi or demi permanent hair dye for your roots. Then just let your color fade when its has grown out the length you want. Keep in mind this will not happen over night. In the mean time conditioner is the key to keeping it looking good. You might try a hair conditioning mask or I like to use Doves 3-minute treatment for colored hair at least once a week.

My hair is natually dirty blonde, but i've been dying it since i was little, but now i dyed it brown?

No I'm sorry to say there is not. Your stylist told you right. I've been doing hair for over thirty years. And whether you want to believe it or not. It's the only way except to let it grow out and put up with roots until all the color is cut off.

If you try to do it yourself your hair could break off at the scalp.

My hair is natually dirty blonde, but i've been dying it since i was little, but now i dyed it brown?

DO NOT BLEACH IT!!! Trust me, I've bleached mine about 3 times, worst mistake. My hair is soo damaged. Just let it grow out, or something.

What do i do with my hair??!!?

I desperately need a good piece of advice!

My natural hair color is dark blond.I dyed it black with permanent dye a year ago. When i got bored of black no.1,i let my hair grow back to its natural color.Less than half of my hair was blond and the rest of it,black.I couldn't wait any longer for it to grow back,so i got a pro hairdresser dye my hair red. Now,i got two colors in my hair and i'm so embarassed of going out!!What can i do???I can't dye it again or bleach it,cause my hair is thin and ready to fall apart!!Please, help me!!!

What do i do with my hair??!!?

I'd say seek professional help. You shouldn't do anymore yourself or your hair could fall out. get someone to do it who knows what they are doing.

What do i do with my hair??!!?

I heard if you add some hair bleach peroxide into your shampoo and conditioner, it removes the dye colour from your hair and turns it back to natural.

I dont know the measurements though, sorry.

What do i do with my hair??!!?

to get healthier hair take codliver oil (gelcaps) and use products w/ panthenol.

What do i do with my hair??!!?

Just shave your head and wear a wig. Brit Spears can do it why can't you?

What do i do with my hair??!!?

Oh gee, I accidentally dyed my hair purple once. I would advise you to get a cute hair cut to maybe get rid of most of the black. If that isn't an option, you could try wearing it up in different styles to hide as much as you can. I would also recommend a product called Anti-Snap by Redken to help with the damage. Patience is probably best to avoid more damage.

What do i do with my hair??!!?

nLEMON JUICE ALONG WITH PEROXIDE,WASH OR RINSE HAIR WITH IT.CHLORINE DARKENS HAIR TOO,SO SWIM ALOT

What hair Color to Choose?

Relaxers are evil... : ( I want to go natural. help!!?

Ok people here is my hair confesison. Since I was little my mom has had chemicals in my hair. I'm 26 and I don't even know what my natural hair even looks like. (I mean a head-full not just the new growth). Anyways, I wore a weave for about a year. Being chemically dependent on relaxers, I was relaxing AND weaving. Yes I know its dumb and I am paying for it severely now. When I took my weave out for the very last time I noticed I had a HUGE bald spot on the left side of my hair and my top is thinning. I'm horrified everytime I look at it.

I want to be chemical free. I would like tips on growing out the relaxer. I don't like weaves and fake hair, and since my hair is thinning I don't really want to cut it off, and with the bald spot, braids will look worse. Any ideas? I'm truly embarrased, but I want to fix the problem. Thanks!

Relaxers are evil... : ( I want to go natural. help!!?

Wow..i'm sorry to hear that. Well since you have had so much processing done to your hair, I'm glad you stopped! Relaxers can be good to tame hair texture, but only when they are used in the right time frames and not excessively.

Get a very very good deep conditioner and shampoo, (Soft and Beautiful has some wonderful products and they are affordable, or choose another reputable brand like Pantene or Biolage(costs a bit more tho). Then since it sounds like you want your hair to be more manageable...get a blow dryer with a comb attatchment at the end so after washing your hair you can comb it dry instead of using a reg blow dryer which most likely will make your hair frizzy, harder to control, and add to damage. Make sure if you blow dry you don't use the highest setting.

Now..since you have problems with the thinning, I would not suggest using any straightners, hot combs or anything unless you really must because it can contribute to the damage. Braids would be ideal because you could leave them in for a few months while your hair heals and repairs, but since you have a balding spot maybe you can find a way to style your hair with maybe a hair piece or some extension that does not require actual weaving which can cause more damage as well. (i know you said you don't like fake hair, but it is an option until you can get your hair healthier).

Olive oil based products for hair are very effective, and there is a really really good oil called Soft %26amp; Beautiful Botanicals which will give your hair a little shine, but also make it feel good. You can find it at Target for like 5 bucks or so. It's great!

If none of this sounds like what you want, I highly suggest going to a professional hair stylist if you can afford it. For your natural hair, you may have to go every two weeks or once a month, but it would be very worth it since they have the expertise and experience to deal with your hair damage. Well good luck, I hope some of these tips helped. To learn more about ethnic hair care you can visit www.palacinka.com

When my mom had the similar problem with a bald patch on her head... doctors advised her following.

1. Have green tea/chinese tea.

2. Put egg white in her hair root twice a week

3. have 2-3 servings of green leafy vegitables at least 3 a week.

Relaxers are evil... : ( I want to go natural. help!!?

Since your hair is thinning around your hair line, I dont think you should get any braids. Braids are always tighter at the front because thats the focal point of the hairstyle.

I too have learned from getting braids over and over again. You first need to start getting your hair into good shape. Healty hair is the best hair to work with. Your haircare routine sounds great but what are you doing with it after you wash and condition it?

I find that my hair grows longer and healther when I get a wrap/deep conditioner at the hair salon. I also get my ends cut once a month.

I suggest you go see a professional hairstylist who specializes in hairgrowth and care, especially when it comes to braids. She then can suggest a professional way on how to fix the problem.

Thinning, bald spots, and dealing with a relaxer is alot to handle on your own if your not sure on what to do. I would go have consultation with someone. They can recommend certain shampoos and conditoners just for your hair texture.

Relaxers are evil... : ( I want to go natural. help!!?

i used to relax my hair also(not for very long though) and didnt like the way it lightened my hair and caused breakage.

you could braid it (without fake hair) in cornrows, single braids, twists, if you do these styles make sure they are not tight or this will make your hair break even more. or if your hair is too weak for that, just continue your hair routine and over time the relaxer will grow out. some people like to cut off the ends of their hair when the realaxer is almost grown out, because by this time the ends that look relaxed are dead. personally i havn't cut them yet cause i think it'll make my hair look short..but im a whimp. um keep your hair mosturized with natural ingredeients.

you can go to www.motowngirl.com for some more tips! hope this helps! good luck.

Relaxers are evil... : ( I want to go natural. help!!?

I has the same problem, colored over and over, and I put a relaxer in it, that made it much worse. You may not like this, but you know what I did? I cut it all off! I started a new. First let your hair grow out for a few month, then go to the salon, and tell them to cut off the chemical treated parts. Your head will be able to breathe, and your hair will grow much better, and shampoo every other day to keep it, from over drying.

Some hair straight, some wavy..HELP?

My hair is both straight, wavy, and curly. At the front it's straight but when you wrap around toward the back it gets wavier and curly until the back is a mess. Some waves are big, some are small, some curls go out, some go in, its just crazy, and my hair is thick. Straightening works for a few hours but makes my hair frizzy and isn't worth the time it takes. Is there anything i can do to make my natural hair tamer and prettier? I dont want to have to spend too long on my hair though. please help!

Some hair straight, some wavy..HELP?

well...you might not want to , but you could get it razer cut *it makes it thinner and also looks good on every faceial shape* then it will be easier to taim and straighten.

hope this helps

I really want to dye my hair black!?

I really want to but the thing is I heard once you dye your hair black its basically impossible to get out without damaging your hair tremendously if you don't like it. Well I have dark brown hair and I have my entire life. I heard that you shouldn't dye your hair black if your pale. Well I'm naturally pretty tan since I'm italian and greek. In the winter of course I get lighter and this is what I look like now. http://i25.tinypic.com/2hz0r34.jpg

i asked my hair stylist what she thinks and she said that it probably wouldn't be a good color but its only like a shade or two darker then what my natural hair color is now! I want a soft black, NOT BLUE BLACK. Just a soft natural black. What do you think?

I really want to dye my hair black!?

dont dye it black please,it'll look too harsh since your eyes are green, insteed some honey blonde highlights would be preferable.

I really want to dye my hair black!?

I like it better the way it is now.

I really want to dye my hair black!?

hmm...I have dark hair like yours and I dyed it jet black...actually very few people except for family and close friends noticed..I am sure it would look nice on you and you can pull it off..

something to keep in mind though..it will take up to six months minimum for the color to fade..its so permanent and if you do not like it ( hopefully you will if you do) then you are STUCK !

good luck--I dyed mine natural black also

I really want to dye my hair black!?

You should keep it!

I really want to dye my hair black!?

i think black hair would really suit you. it doesnt seem as if its going to wash you out, and i think its going to look good on you. good luck!

I really want to dye my hair black!?

why don't you get a black rinse or semi permanent before you dye it black just to see if you like it. It'll naturally wash out in about 20 or so washes. That's not harsh on your hair.

I really want to dye my hair black!?

listen to your stylist.

Does anyone know of a mild hair relaxer?

I am a light skinned african american woman. I have curly all natural hair that requires a lot of maintenance. I contantly have to apply a hair lotion or grease because it is really dry. I've learned how to straighten it with hot combs and curlers, but any type of humidity just brings the curls right back. I used to get relaxers put in my hair, but decided to go natural alittle over a yeasr ago because it was damaging my hair. Now I'm thinking about going back to relaxers, because then my hair will be easier to manage. But I need a mild and subtle one that's not so harsh on my hair. ANY SUGGESTIONS?! PLEASE!!!

Does anyone know of a mild hair relaxer?

I can't get what u say. But i was much satisfied with the haircare tips said in the website here. Refer the website for more info.

Does anyone know of a mild hair relaxer?

I've seen one by pantene pro-v

Does anyone know of a mild hair relaxer?

Okay I am A Hair Care Professional....

Any brand of relaxers carriers mild.... They all have regular, mild, and super. That is true, relaxed hair is easier to manage. I suggest that you see a professional explain to them what you usually do to your hair on a regular bases and what you want your hair to do for you.Than they can suggest the right relaxer and technique for you. Remember believe it or not, your hair plays a very big part of your looks and should not be taken lightly, see a pro..

Does anyone know of a mild hair relaxer?

I do my own relaxers because I had one too many bad experiences in going to hair shops to get my hair done. So that's my first piece of advice to you-- learn your own head of hair and do it all yourself. Second, I use Organic Root Stimulator in Regular Strength. I only keep it on for half the time then I rinse it out and condition my hair for an hour. Then I use a flat iron to get it straight. I would recommend ORS and rinse out early. Steer clear of beauticians because they will try and keep the perm on your hair a long time and you will end up with broken off hair. I do my hair myself and my hair has been growing.

Can my hair be rejecting hair extensions. My real hair is falling out with the extensions?

PLEASE HELP!

I had pre bonded hair extensions put in 2 days ago and 3 of the extensions have come out with my natural hair.

Im so scared that im going to end up bald. I dont know what to do. I went back to the hairdressers this morning and she told me that my hair is not accepting the extensions, and instead of taking them out (which you would of thought would be the only thing to do if my hair is not accepting them) she sold me a shampoo and conditioner called nioxine. She said the same happened to her and she started using this shampoo and it stopped falling out. She said that she had 6 fall out.

Im not sure i am prepared to wait and see if they stop falling out with this shampoo, or just go to another haordressers and get them removed.

The other thing is... I have just moved to malta and got them done here, do you think I should fly back to the UK and get them sorted there?

Can my hair be rejecting hair extensions. My real hair is falling out with the extensions?

just get them out. glue in extensions give you bald patches and are really unhealthy for your hair. xx

Can my hair be rejecting hair extensions. My real hair is falling out with the extensions?

If you have fragile hair and add extensions, it can break off because of the weight added by having extensions put in. they should be delicately removed. And then have deep conditioning treatments. Some people should not use extensions for this very reason

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

I go back from my natural hair color which is black to blonde streaks with golden brown hair base color every other year but I was wondering what color looks best? My BF loves my hair with blonde streaks but my Gfs say i look best with natural black hair? what do you guys think?

http://xotiknpetite.tripod.com/xotiknpet...

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

You are pretty in both...

You are more "funky/striking"/"memorable" as a blond...

You are more "beautiful" with dark hair

What are you going for? Funky or Fabulous? :-)

Seriously, I don't think you could do anything wrong. You'd look pretty with short pink spikes, so you could really do anything you want.

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

Blonde. For sure. You are hot as a blonde. And hot the other way too, but hotter as a blonde.

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

I love the blonde! It looks really good with you're skin tone!

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

black hair.

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

Natural, all the way.

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

the dark hair looks much better with your skin color, and facial features, the blond looks more like euro trash trying to pick up a guy on south beach.

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

blondy

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

you look fine in both, but i love a dark haird lady,Grrrrrrrrr

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

You look stunning with black hair. Dark hair is easier to keep looking good too as it reflects more light and appears shiny and healthy.

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

In the blond picture your hair has been straightened and so it is hard to compare.

But I think the blond makes you look a bit fake. I think you should put less blond in it next time, or leave it natural.

I also think it would be really nice to cut it to your chin.

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

They both look equally good, honestly.

I think the black is a better photo of you, but I can see that the blonde would look really nice in real life.

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

gurl u like beyonce.. definately blonde ;)

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

Black

Blonde or Black Hair? Which Color Do I look best in?

I like them both. I think that the blonde is a better contrast with your skin tone.

Dying hair lighter?

I have dyed blonde hair right now (golden blonde) i want to let my natural hair color grow out but idont like the look of light brown up against the yellow-blonde. I want to bleach my hair like a platnum white blonde. whats the best way of going about this with already dyed hair?

by the way my hair is in very good shape (soft, not dry or damaged)

thanks

Dying hair lighter?

My suggestion to you is, since it's almost Spring I would just go with some heavy hi-lights to carry you through the summer and then around the end of August, go back and get some really heavy lo- lights that's sure to look great all Winter! Hope this helps!

Dying hair lighter?

If you go to a local drugstore such as shoppers drug mart you can go and talk to one of the girls working in that section. They are very knowledgeable and will be able to help you out.

Dying hair lighter?

Hmm Your Question Is A Tad Confuzingg.

Buttt.

If You Dont Like Regrowth Dye Your Hair Back To Your Natural Colour And Let It Grow.

But If You Want To Go Really Blonde .. Just Gradully Go Lighter And Lighter.

Dying hair lighter?

For this you must seek the advise of a hair professional. Your hair is already dyed, bleaching can damage your hair and pull it out even. You say your hair is in good shape, keep it that way and go seek the help and advise of a beautician.

How does hair stripper work? does it take out your natural colour as well?

Hairstripper works by removing the dye that is on your hair follicles. It reminds me of when you were a little kid and would rub a crayon over paper and then use something to remove the wax to see the paper underneath. It does not remove your natural color but it does leave your hair damaged and dry. If you choose to have your hair stripped be sure to get a good leave-in conditioner so as to avoid any further damage.

How does hair stripper work? does it take out your natural colour as well?

well it is just like a dye it can add color and won't ruin the real color

My black hair dye won't come out?

Well, I dyed my hair in June 2007, eight months ago, and my semi-permanent black hair-dye hasn't washed out. I went through a craze-faze of washing my hair twice a day and using the strongest, nastiest shampoos to make it come out. My natural hair is a very light shade of honey-blonde, and my friends say maybe because my hair is so light it absorbed it bad-assly. My mother went to a hair-salon about five months ago, and asked what was to be done. She said to not try and bleach/dye my hair, to not strip of the dye or apply any chemical. She said to wash it out, and go out in the sun. But, I followed her instructions and it hasn't lightened in the slightest, only my roots are visable now. I really do need to get rid of it, because I'm moving schools and they have a strict NO DYE, NO PIERCINGS AND NO BOYS policy. I am considering having it stripped out, but I seriously want to know if it does immense damage?

My black hair dye won't come out?

Black semi-permanent dye is effectively a permanent dye. I dyed my hair black last year and my hair didn't return to its natural colour until I'd cut all the dyed hair off.

It's not going to come out completely no matter how much you try stripping it with strong shampoos, and in fact you'll only damage your hair by constantly subjecting it to such harsh treatment.

I suppose you could go to the hairdresser and see if they can strip your hair and dye it back to a colour close to your natural one, so regrowth isn't so obvious. Your hair condition won't be great, but it's either that or cut it off and wait for it to regrow.

My black hair dye won't come out?

Try head and shoulders shampoo, i have heard that it helps to strip the colour from hair.

My black hair dye won't come out?

well if you want to try it I know that if you buy a home perm that will strip it out ???

you just put the stuff on dont actually put the rollers in..

and then get it cut really short to help it renew its strength.

By the way that school sounds scary

My black hair dye won't come out?

Even if you strip it, you may still have to color it afterwards.

My black hair dye won't come out?

Try a shampoo called Metallex. It's just like a strong shampoo. Try it alone or with developer. Follow the directions carefully. Good luck!

My black hair dye won't come out?

Go buy color oops at your local rite aid or longs drugs. It will strip the color out with out damaging you hair! i used to 3 times in like a week and didnt damage my hair at all!

My black hair dye won't come out?

I dyed my hair black in August 06 and kept dying it black till May 07 when i decided to go bk to my natural colour brown.

My hairdresser Bleached my hair, then after she had bleached it, she put a brown dye over it.

It didn't get very dry and i just made sure it left condtioner in everyday for a week and it was fine.

Do you like your hair black, cuz if you do, the school doesnt have to know youve dyed it.

Will coloring my hair kill it?

I'm 15 and I have dark brown hair. I wanted blonde highlights so I did it but it only lightened all my hair. Two weeks later I colored it back to my normal hair color and put red highlights in it. It colored once again all my hair and now my hair is red with blonde highlights. Will doing all this to my hair kill it? Is there anyway to prevent killing it but still highlight? I want to let my natural hair color come back and put the red highlights or stips in it. Should I do it or will it kill my hair severely? I don't know what to do.

Will coloring my hair kill it?

I dye my hair all the time. You need to use V05 hot oil conditioning in between colorings.

Will coloring my hair kill it?

You still have juvenille hair, but you CAN dye it, but leave it in there for about half the time it would normally be. Trust me I know, I am 15 also and I have dyed my hair before.

Will coloring my hair kill it?

You can't do highlights by yourself because they never will be highlights. Only let a professional do that. It will take over a year for your hair to grow back in and I suggest that you do not highlight your hair anymore or else it will get worse. Keep conditioning it with a thick conditioner so it will not frizz.

Will coloring my hair kill it?

The more chemicals you put in it, the more you are killing it. Especailly since you have colored it so many times in such a short period of time. The best way to get a safre form of highlights is to use a product called sun-in. You just put it on your hair where you want it lighter, and set out in the sun. I'm not sure if its totally harmless, but i know it causes less damage than full out color treatment.

Will coloring my hair kill it?

it probably wont kill your hair. their are some shampoos and conditioners you can use that will keep your hair healthy. just dont dye your hair many times in a short amount of time, or it might damage your hair

Will coloring my hair kill it?

It won't kill it but it can be harmed if too much or improper coloring is done. Go to a salon and they will know how to do what you want done. Quit experimenting on yourself or you will ruin your hair that's on your head. Good news is that it does grow back healthy and natural.

Will coloring my hair kill it?

hair is dead skin cells...dead...just thought I would let you know that, fully realizing it wasn't helpful at all.

To help my hair to heal, shouldn't I just leave it alone?

I have about 1/2" of new growth... my hair is naturally shiny and healthy. But in the past, I have relaxed my hair so the rest of my hair looks pretty....dead and fried. I was thinking about just letting my hair loose and allowing my hair to take care of itself. Cutting off my hair is a no-no according to my mother (I am still 17... so I can't cut it until I am 18).

Suggestions?

P.S. My natural hair is wavy... but the relaxed hair is straight... wouldn't that looked weird?

To help my hair to heal, shouldn't I just leave it alone?

I think you should just let your hair grow out.

But if you don't like how its gonna look (because of the wavy and straight thing, then just use a flatiron. I know it sounds like it'll do more damage, but at least you wont have to have that weird look going on)

But in the mean time you can use Joico K-Pak.

The shampoo.

The condioner.

And the deep penetrating reconstructer.

Its very strong stuff though, so don't use too much of it at a time.

Also, Pantene is really good to get it soft and silky.

But nothing is better than the VO5 Hot Oil Treatment.

Home remedies...

Put olive oil, mayo, or baby lotion (preferabbly Johnsons) on your hair and keep it in over night.

To help my hair to heal, shouldn't I just leave it alone?

I don't really understand your question. But, yes, if your hair is currently damaged, the best solution for it would be to just to stop putting chemicals into it, except for shampoo and conditioner. Some big brands have stuff called ''for repairing damaged hair'' but all it is is more chemicals.

To help my hair to heal, shouldn't I just leave it alone?

Start going to the salon every 2 weeks for them to get you through this stage - let them know you don't want any chemicals or heat on it for a while and see if they have any suggestions...

Clip in hair extensions?

I bought some clip in hair extensions, my natural hair is just past my sholders. But when I put the hair extensions in you can tell that I have got them in as you can see where my natural hair ends and the extensions finish (not because of colour) does anyone have any tips on how to put them in? Maybe Im dong something wrong, but I dont seem to be. Caz xxx

Clip in hair extensions?

You should have bought a higher quality extension, one that doesn't look so fake.

I guess it depends on the extension, too. I have clip on extensions that I just clip onto my ponytail and sort of "replace" the pony tail so they don't have the obvious contrast with my real hair.

Straight 2 wavy hair?

i have really straight hair, boring, thin, yuck. i want it wavy. my hair is about 5 or 6 inches past my shoulders. please don't tell me 2 us hairspray after using curlers. i don't like hairspray, i want just my natural hair without any type of hair stuff in it. maybe gel, depends, i want my hair soft and without that feeling of something used in it. i've used curlers b4, and they either give me super CURLY hair or they come out easy, or barely wave. they don't do anything right. does some1 have any suggestions on what i could do 2 wave my hair and keep it that way all day.

i want 2 do this process the night b4, not necessarily in the morning. i get up very early and get ready 4 school, so i barely have time 4 this stuff and have 2 suffer with my awful hair throughout the day.

Straight 2 wavy hair?

try braids, or just a normal messy bun with damp hair, or sea salt in a spray bottle with water. it works. good luck!

Straight 2 wavy hair?

uummm use a curling shampoo!, probably herbal essences totally twisted, I mean i have curly hair but it makes it REALLY curly! so use that, also use the scrunching gel! I think it would work. There is a mousse kind and a gel kind! so that's all i can think of! if you don't want to use Herbal Essences for some reason, then use Pantene Hydrating curls and it's styling collection(i don't know them) sorry!

I hope this helps

Straight 2 wavy hair?

My friend told me this amazing technique. Take moose and scrunch your hair the way you want it. Then take Root Pumper, and apply that to your roots and scrunch your hair up, and then hairspray it, and then blow dry it. Then add some more hairspray. They make some really light hairsprays that dont make your hair and stiff and it looks great.

Black People who hate natural black hairstyles?

Why do SOME you give black people who don閳ユ獩 like natural hairstyles give black people that wear them a hard way to go? I mean I know for a fact that's it's not all Black People who do this. . .very few. But the ones that do they can be really mean. I am presently growing out my relaxer to go natural %26amp; a fellow classmate has already grown her out completely, we both get many compliments from other races about how beautiful our natural hair is %26amp; they always want to touch it. However, we have SOME black ppl who always want to say something negative, like " that looks nasty like that" or question why we don't want to straighten it. It seems that these ppl have issues w/ their race/ heritage. Which my classmate %26amp; myself do not. For those of you who feel negative toward natural black styles, why do you some of you feel the need to harass ppl who don't want to chemically process their hair? Do you have unresolved issues w/ your heritage?

Black People who hate natural black hairstyles?

It's because black people seem to be stuck in this self-destructive cycle of telling each other what "acceptable blackness" is "supposed" to look like. You're "too black" if your hair is natural, but you're not "keepin' it real" if you straighten your hair. Braids and cornrows are "unprofessional", but if you bleach or color your hair then you are trying to look "white".

You ask me, black people seem to have some sort of innate cultural control-freakyness that forces us to constantly hate on each other by staying all up in each others' kool-aid with the attitude and the finger-pointing. You don't hear other races doing this, especially about the hair. WE. NEED. TO. STOP. DOING. THIS. TO. EACH. OTHER.

Black People who hate natural black hairstyles?

Sorry you deal with that kind of nonsense. Report It

Black People who hate natural black hairstyles?

I like when black girls leave their hair natural, I think it looks sexy

Black People who hate natural black hairstyles?

er.... I though it was the other way around?

well, maybe its just me... as I have never come across any black person who hates the 'fro.... but I've come across tons of them who hate straight hair (with their own reasons of course)

Black People who hate natural black hairstyles?

personal preference

Black People who hate natural black hairstyles?

"I mean I know for a fact that's it's not all Black People who do this. . .very few." -

Meaning it is very few Black people who are on this vendetta or very few Black people who do make it an issue?

Black People who hate natural black hairstyles?

Well i never see people who have an issue with the natural hair, but i see it the other way. People are always talking or commenting on our weaves and wanting to touch it. I think natural is beautiful. Ive worn natural before and weaves and the both have their good and bad advantages.

Black People who hate natural black hairstyles?

i dont know why some people have problems with that, maybe they envy you or something...to me, that just seems plain stupid! however you like to wear your hair, thats your own personal preference....Rock it natural girl!!! :-)

Black People who hate natural black hairstyles?

You're first statement doesn't make sense, but I don't think you're an idiot - just in a hurry. It happens! lol!

It's strange that James considers you an idiot, especially sense despite his "perfect" grammar, he tends to "follow the herd" and thus rarely has an original thought that denotes any form of critical thinking...

And well, I don't know any black people that have a problem with natural hair styles. Hence, I've never heard a black woman call it nasty or say anything negative one way or another. But negative comments could come from feeling less secure w/ growing their relaxers out. Thus they could be jealous of your pride and courage to hone the natural beauty of your hair without shame. However, they also may think black women that wear their hair natural look down on the black women that choose to wear a perm/relaxer. Or maybe they wish they could wear their hair natural without being treated differently, hence corporate America likes conformity when it comes to appearance.

HELP! What is the best hair dye from a box???

Which brand of box hair color is the best in your opinion for dying hair red that wont come out absolutly horribly?? My natural hair color is a really dark brown with natural reddish highlights.

A friend who always dyes her hair uses Garnier Nutrisse, and her hair looks good-- so I got Red Tamale. Just wondering what yall's experiences have been?

Thanks!!!

HELP! What is the best hair dye from a box???

Hey. Well, red's the most difficult color...I suggest this...if your hair's dark your best bet is to bleach your hair FIRST then color it the shade you want. If you leave your color dark the way it is now--the color will NOT look the same as it is on the box!!! it will just look like you've added SUDDLE hilites... Ive been coloring my hair for 20+++++ yrs...trust me on this. you can color right after you bleach your hair just make sure you condition after you die it red %26amp; wash it!!!!!!!! then afterwards you can cont. to color w/out bleaching.garnier's a good brand. good luck %26amp; let me now how it turns out. peace! ~SC.

HELP! What is the best hair dye from a box???

Hey! thanks for picking me as best answer....let me know how the color goes ok? ttyl. peace!

HELP! What is the best hair dye from a box???

GAINER 100% B/C THE COLOR HOLDS IT IN. I LOVE AVOCADO SMELL. 2 ME ITS THE BEST. FOR SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER IT HAS HERBAL ESSENCE THE FRUITY ONE.

HELP! What is the best hair dye from a box???

I have used Garnier Nutrise hair dye before. My natural hair color is a medium brown with some golden highlights and some darker brown highlights.

I currently have the Reddish Brown color in my hair and I love it! I was recommended by my stylist Garnier Nutrise. Honestly this is the only hair dye I will ever buy it's pretty gentle.

HELP! What is the best hair dye from a box???

I have tried most of the store brands out there. I highly recommend Garnier 100% color. I smells good. It's not all heavy and inky and makes my hair looks really shiny and the color never goes brassy or dull. The brown colors do tend to be lighter than the box shows and I think the other dyes tend to run darker.

Hair coloring and highlights.?

hi, last month, i colored my hair brown, with golden brown highlights. but i want to change it back to my natural hair color (which is black) and put white highlights on it. so that means, i have to color my hair again in order to turn it into black, right?? my question is, could this be bad for my hair? -- coloring a hair again that was previously colored?

Hair coloring and highlights.?

It is possible that constant coloring treatments would damage the hair, but if you want to change it back to black, then use a gentle hair color and definitely wait for the white highlights--at least a few months, because that could really wreck the hair. It might also be wise to get a trim after you dye your hair back to black. Most stylists and people with enough experience advise others not to color over recently or previously colored hair because it could come out not exactly how you wanted it. The best thing to do would be to consult a stylist, though. I've colored over previously colored hair and it turned out fine, so if you want to go ahead and do that, then do so at your own risk. Good luck.

Hair coloring and highlights.?

no it should be fine

Goodluck鈾?br>Hair coloring and highlights.?

No worries dear :)

I've done it dozens of times. Just make sure you use a conditioner to rehydrate.

:) 鈾esse鈾?br>Hair coloring and highlights.?

I've colored my hair about 12 times (no joke) and i've had it so many different colors. Including the color you are talking about now. Then I died it to a dark brown(which turned out to be black) so dont worry. But I wouldn't go by what the boxes say, get it done proffesionally, it may cost more, but it will turn out better. Krista

Hair help! How should I wear it.?

Hm. I am really wanting to know how to style my hair tomorrow.Just school. Lets see. But nothing with curly. Sorry.Cause thats my natural hair.=(. Anything up. straight w/e

thanks

I have long hair. With front bangs. Its a chestnut color with like lite brown natural highlights. Any ideas (: thnxx =]

Hair help! How should I wear it.?

It would help if you posted a picture of yourself..hm... if u don't want to cut your hair headbands work great anyways..one of my favorite styles is a side bang in the front, then pull the hair on top of your head back with a clip. it would especially look great w/ permed hair..also... sparkly clips make it look extra pretty..or just leave it wavy, take a one-inch section of hair in the front and braid it. pull it back into a half-up half-down messy bun. hope that helped.

Hair help! How should I wear it.?

straighten it, get your fringe and pull it back then twist the end and pin it to make a quiff :)

Hair help! How should I wear it.?

I would recomend just straightening it including your bangs and if you wake up late i would jut straighten your bangs and leave the rest curly my friend does that and it looks really pretty.and straighten them to the side

Hair help! How should I wear it.?

If you straight it, it will look really good. Or you could do a ponytail with a skinny headband.

I dyed my hair black, and now I want it out, is bleaching a good idea?

Okay so my hair is already pretty damaged. I deep condition it weekly and just got it cut and still lots of damage. I just have natrually freezy and poofy hair- so I have to straighten it alot which is SO bad for anyones hair!! Then I went and did a stupid thing and colored my hair black and it was blonde before.. it faded the first time so I recolored it the same color and guess what, its fading again! And I just don't want to do anymore damage to my hair.. I have to get the color out- It i bleach it myself it turns orange but then I was just going to put some dye on it that matches what I believe my natrual hair color use to be ( I havn't had my natural hair color in 7 years)

Any suggestions?

girl who just wants healty hair now-

I dyed my hair black, and now I want it out, is bleaching a good idea?

Goodness girl...leave it alone! really, don't fix it yourself, get a good stylist to help you, especially since it is already so damaged. Why not wear it curly instead of straightening it all the time. Just condition your hair alot, then after you shower, use some gel, a little hairspray, and let air dry! It'll be great. There's also a book called curly girl that is a guide for all types of wavy/curly hair.

I dyed my hair black, and now I want it out, is bleaching a good idea?

nope it wont work u should go to a salon and get ur hair stripped and that will make it back to ur natural color

I dyed my hair black, and now I want it out, is bleaching a good idea?

probably nott.... plus how would bleaching get the color out? wouldnt it be just putting more color in? bleaching is really damaging i heard.... so if you're looking to make ur hair more healthy, dont bleach it.

Makeup, hair and general beauty tips? Pictures included.?

Hi there, I'm going back to school tomorrow and want to look good. Here are two pictures of me front-on:

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147...

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147...

Please don't say eyebrows lol, i am working on those and getting them done next week :)

Those photos are me completely natural, my natural hair wavieness (not straightened) (not the colour - that is highlighted), and my natural face.

I thought people could judge better on natural pictures instead of ones with makeup on (i only wear foundation and mascara about once a week)

Thankyou! :)

Makeup, hair and general beauty tips? Pictures included.?

Your beautiful! and natural.

Makeup, hair and general beauty tips? Pictures included.?

really depends on what look youre going for...if youre going for sultry/sexy id do eyeliner and mascara, a smudged eyeshadow color, and blush. remember: with makeup for school, the less you can use to bring out your features, the better. dont use it to cover faults (except spots, of course) use it to bring out good stuff! and youve def. got a good "look' to work with =)

Makeup, hair and general beauty tips? Pictures included.?

You don't look too old so I will tell you some tips for your age. First apply a little foundation to even out your skin. Lightly, though, not too much. Do a light blush and mascara on the top and bottom lashes. Chapstick or clear lipgloss is perfect. If you want you can do some eyeshadow. I would suggest brown tones. Light on top, darker on bottom.

For hair, you can straighten it if you want or leave it wavy. I personally like a messy bun with a little hair still left down. And a headband if you want.

hi! im erica!

you should first of all straighten ur hair. and btw i luv ur hair color in that picture. its cute!

you should wear foundation but not much. wat i do is get a paper towel and get it slightly damp. then i put the stuff on the paper towel (about a dime size) and dab the makeup where i want it and rub it in. if u use powder than do watever it is u do. and i say wear some blush.

i think you should wear mascara and curl ur lashes if you have an eyelash curler.

put on some lipgloss and maybe find a cute headband to wear and good luck going back to school! email me!

Makeup, hair and general beauty tips? Pictures included.?

a shimmery pink/light brown/peach shadow with mascara on upper and lower lashes with a natural lip gloss.. also blush and foundation if needed... you have a natural beauty tho so dont pile on the makeup, leave it more simple.

HELP! What's a hair color that compliments Asian skin?

Please don't say black, just because it's my natural Asian hair color and that natural hair is the most beautiful. Hear me out first.

I do have black hair, but it doesn't compliment my skin tone at all. In actuality, it makes me look sickly. I look like the lady from the grudge!

I have a sallow complexion. Think of it as pale but with a bit of gold. Yeah, thanks to the tan from living in Hawaii, but my skin never got the pretty glow like everyone else, sadly.

Suggestions? Please? What hair color or highlights compliment my skin? I feel really ugly right now. Well, not right now, more like always. I feel depressed that all the Asian girls around me have that gorgeous tan with their lovely black hair, and I just look like a ghost. =[

HELP! What's a hair color that compliments Asian skin?

Don't go with blonde...cuz pale skin + pale hair color = even paler and ghostlier. I think you should go with medium to dark brown so its not such a vast contrast with your skin. You should add highlights too if you want.

HELP! What's a hair color that compliments Asian skin?

Depends on you appearance

but asians look good in brunette hair

HELP! What's a hair color that compliments Asian skin?
