Hair coloring question?

I really don't know how to ask this, and it's not anything huge, I'm just curious about something. I colored my hair about 3-4 weeks ago. My natural hair color is a dirty blonde/light brown color, and about 6 inches out from the root, it was blonde from a previous coloring. I bought a light brown coloring kit, and did it over this, to even out the tones (who likes to walk around with 6 in roots? lol). Well, 3 weeks later, it's faded - blonde again! I'm quite lost on this one, as my natural hair color is NOT this shade of blonde. Any idea as to why it keeps fading back to this color? I can deal with it, I'm just very curious.

No matter what you use color will always fade. A good color treatment shampoo and Conditioner should make the color last somewhat longer.

most boxed color kits are semi-permanent, if you don't want it to fade as much you need permanent but this is worse for you hair...or go to a pro. either way you need to re color about every 4 wks.

Hair coloring question?

That is strange that your hair is fading back to the blonde. I'am a blonde and once i had dyed my hair to brown, and my hair then turned kind of greenish. So i had to dye my hair again to brown. If your blonde or have blonde hair its hard to change it to a darker color, i know it sounds a bit wierd, but u should dye your hair a lighter brown then wait awhile and dye your hair to a darker brown.

Hair coloring question?

The fading is normal. Especially with how light your hair was. I would see a professional. They'll be able to even out the colors and give you a more permanent look. Most likely, they'll dye it a shade darker. That way, it will fade to the color you desire. Again, go see a professional. Otherwise, you could totally screw up your hair. Trust me, I've done it many times, before I finally learned my lesson :)
