My hair is dry and thinning are there any natural treatments?

Try external hair thickeners such as :

Applying oils to dry or wet hair: jojoba, emu, coconut, and unrefined castor. Only a drop needed when rubbed in your hands and applied to the hair. Coconut oil is one of many oils that has been scientifically found to penetrate many layers into the hair shaft and have moisturizing qualities. Any of these oils can also help keep moisture in the hair by "sealing" the shaft and creating a barrier for the moisture. Apply any moisturizer and then a little oil to seal the moisture in. Style as usual.

natural hot oil treatments with an essential oil

hair clay - an old indian remedy for skin and hair problems. Helps to rebuild hair shaft and strengthen hair so that the hair is thicker.

Raw avocado - this is one of natures best conditioners. The oil in the avocado naturally nurishes the hair shaft for soft, moisturized, shiny hair.

Honey - increases shine and thickness; used as a pre-poo treatment. Just take honey right out of the jar or comb and apply it to your hair. Although sticky, the shampoo with wash it off and leave the honey's shine behind instead.

Internal:

Hair supplements - Sea Vegg (gives nurishment to hair that is unique and a blend of sea plants and vitamins), Viviscal (another sea based pill that helps rebuild and regrowth hair naturally), natural sea kelp (high in silica which aids in growth and strength), multi-vitamin with biotin (natural vitamins to give your hair a boost and strength to make it less prone towards thinning)

De-stress yourself - if anything is stressing you or making you sad, this can cause your hair to thin and fall out like crazy. Treat yourself and your hair to a de-stressing event (i.e. spa, trust worthy salon visist, massage, steam room) or exercise or a family event.

Stop using heat tools/chemicals - if you use a blow dryer or any heat styling tool, lay off of it for awhile. The heat from these tools can cause hair to thin out over time and also dry out the hair shaft. If high heat is used with water or any liquid, (i.e. damp hair) then the heat can actually caused the hair to boil and bubble up - causing horrible damage - thinning, frizzing, limp, dry hair.

Hope that helped!

Hi Jojo, firstly stop worrying !! I had the same problem mine is improving. I apply amla hair oil to my hair last thing at night and then wash it off the next morning, with this your hair will gradually fall less and become more healthier. Also you need to drink lots of water, a big mug of milk each day and eat lots of fresh fruits and vegs. Best of luck, love Seli xxx

ps. you can get amla hair oil from any good asian grocery store.

I'm bald,so i haven't found it yet. there are treatments but expensive. i thin you get three months worth of treatment/lotion. but if you stop the treatment, it reverts to how thin your hair would have been if you'd not had any treatment at all. i have read they are working on something (an injection) that may be available in the next few years.

keep it short is my best advice. and don't comb-over as my father did. he looked like a windsurfer on breezy days. if he wore skates, he could have done about 30mph. lol

Camel, elephant or cow dung are all supposed to work and they are all eminently natural. The advantage of elephant dung is that you'll have more than enough to share some with a friend and elephants are tall enough to stand under and get it on piping fresh.

Let me know if it works, so that if I ever go bald......

Well you havent given many details about yourself. Your age and your sex are often big factors in determing the condition of your hair. Other factors such as stress and diet can have an effect on your hair.

As a general rule though, besides changing your genetic makeup, hair can only really be improved by diet and lifestyle. Strange but true. Try to eat more foods rich in Omega 3 oils and potassium, stuff like fish and bananas. Also make sure you are drinking enough water. You can also try deep conditioning treatments and try to avoid blow drying your hair too often. Chemical treatments, chlorine and anti-dandruff shampoos are also a no-no as they weaken the strands and can even strip the hair of colour. Hope this helps.

If your hair is dry there r quite a lot of natural remedies out there especially natural oils! But if your hair is thinning it could be medication that is causing this/ lifestyle! if u can work out what is causing this problem u could even get a consultation from a herbalist
