Advice on hair dye?

my hair right now is a dark brown, my natural color is a very light brown/dark blonde color.i HATE my natural hair color it looks very drab and dull almost grey/greenish looking.i was blonde for about a year but i messed up and let my bf convince me to go brunette because thats what he likes best. BIG MISTAKE!ive been unhappy with my hair ever since(a few months ago)and ive finally decided im gonna do what I WANT TO DO and go back to blonde regardless of his opinion.lol.since my hair is so dark now,i know im gonna have to go to a pro and get it stripped and then have my color of choice put on over top (double processing) which is fine and everything but after the initial stripping/bleaching im not gonna want to put my hair thru that damage again so im worried about the roots.when my roots grow in,they wont be as dark as my hair is now but they will be much darker than the color it will be after stripping so therefore my hair is going to be uneven when i put reg dye on em. advice please

Advice on hair dye?

Do whatever you want to do. Just remember if your hair was originally an ashy shade then that is the color YOU will look better in no matter what color you go with, blonde or brown both have ash shades. My hair dresser always wants to put on a warm tone blonde on me but I am naturally ashy brown so I go with the ash tones in blonde. Just go to Walmart and look at the colors you like, look for ones that say ash blone, light, medium or dark....they'll usually say "cool" or natural. Steer clear of the ones that say warm.

Let us know which you choose and how it turns out.

okay, being blonde with brunette under it will be hard about every 6 weeks you will have to go back over and over again to get a root touch up, good luck!!

Advice on hair dye?

the hairdresser will never strip your hair..you are on your own for that...i haven't met one hairdresser that trulys offers color correction...she or he will just talk you into enough highlights to bring you closer to the color you had before...my suggestion would be to just leave it alone and grow it out back to your natural color...because the truth is..your natural color is no longer under that dark hair dye..it has be bleached with the peroxide and its orange under there..so if you even chose to strip it at home...then you will have orange carrot top hair...you won't be blond..you would have to then bleach it again..chances are you would seriousely screw up your hair and it would no longer be healthy...i stripped my own hair before and my natural color is like a light brown...i also had a soap cap done by my teacher at hair school...i have had highlights color you name it...i have really damaged my hair to the point where it all needs to grow back..so moderation is key in hairdye
