Hair dye and brand?

My natural hair color is Jet Black.

However i've moved somewhere sunny and my hair has gotton to a light brown-dark brown shade..

My roots are jet black though.

I don't go out in the sun as much as i use to so i was wondering..

Could i dye my hair Jet Black again?

Would my hair look okay?

I'm sure it will but will somthing go wrong or would somthing change my hair?

What brand is the best?

Any other tips or comments?

Please hurry! Buying hair dye tomorrow!!

Hair dye and brand?

I agree with Loreal (Feria). I've used it numerous times and it gives really good color results that are permanent. My only suggestion to you is that you may not want to die it jet black. Sometimes it comes out looking unaturally dark. You might want to try soft black. You can buy it at Walmart and many other stores.

Good luck!

L'oreal Ferria is the absolute best. Shiny and conditions your hair when you use a dark color.

Hair dye and brand?

dying hair ruines your hair

Hair dye and brand?

Schwartzkopff does a great Jet Black. I've used it, and recommend it.

Whilst dying hair does cause a degree of damage, it's considerably mild if you're darkening your hair, especially if you aren't dying it regularly - you probably won't notice a difference. Also, if you havent used dyes before, try and do a patch test to see if you have any negative reactions if you're concerned.

Goodluck :)

I would recommend a semipermanent color because you only need to deposit color. Semi is better for the hair as well. I don't know what your finances are, but I would highly recommend going to a professional to do your hair. You can ask for a toner to be put on your ends and usually only takes about 10-15 minutes at a salon. Most places don't charge that much for toner. If you have a hair cuttery near you, I would recommend them as I know their prices are very reasonable. Semipermanent color also creates shine. I do not recommend getting the off the shelf products as they can have henna in them or metallic dyes that are very harmful. The only one that I do know of that does not have any harmful products is the Nice N Easy by Clairol. LIke I said before, Please take my advice and use the Semi. A lot of people who are not in the hair business will tell you to use permanent. Don't. When you use permanent it damages the hair because not only are you depositing color but it is going through the cortex and is very damaging. They might also say that Semi doesn't last as long. NOt true. It will last as long as you are using a shampoo formulated for color. Most the on shelf brands that you see at Walmart(pantene particularly) will coat the hair and also strip the hair's color. I recommend getting Redken Color Extend Shampoo and Conditioner. Most salons in the month of Aug. and Sept. have a sale on the liters.

Hair Dye Problems!?

So, i've tried like every kinda hair dye out there and STILL nothing will come close to my natural hair color. About 4 years ago i dyed my hair with blonde highlights...now i just want my natural dark brown back but i keep ending up with like...a light gold tinted brown.

Stop dying or is there a product that actually works and stays!?!?

Hair Dye Problems!?

EITHER GO TO A PROFESSIONAL SALON OR ...

SALLYS BEAUTY SUPPLY AND THEY WILL HELP YOU FIND A COLOR THAT MATCHES YOUR NATURAL COLOR.

YOU PROBABLY NEED A LEVEL 4 AND YOU PROBABLY NEED AN BLUE OR VIOLET BASE TO GET RID OF THE BRASSY COLOR

Hair Dye Problems!?

Try using a really ashy brown, it won't turn out so gold coloured.

Hair Dye Problems!?

quit dying it.

it will grow back :]

get trims and it should be fine.

Hair Dye Problems!?

If those Store products don't work, have it done professionally at a salon :]]] or my fave, Sally's Beauty Supply, they have all kinds at good prices, plus they'll work with you to find your true match.

Hair Dye Problems!?

Once you've started coloring your hair, you can't stop. It will never be just "natural" again. Best thing to do is to color it every few months, just to keep it touched up and be the color you want it to be. I know what you mean. I color my hair dark brown every few months if not longer, just because it gets so light. During the summer, it gets really light, a lot faster. I've used Nice N Easy and Garnier. Those are both good brands. Don't use Color Silk, and nothing with "ash" in it.

Hair Dye Problems!?

Unless you use Henna then all tints (ie permanent hair colours) use peroxide soooooo even when you chose a dark shade it will lighten with washes and sun exposure as it grows out. Use a semi-permanent colour and the highlights and the tints will grow out eventually. Top up the colour on the ends and mid-lengths only as it lightens between applications. You will have to do this every 3-4 weeks. Your ends and mid-lengths will lighten first because they will contain the bleach from your highlights and previous tints and are the dryest and have been exposed to the elements for the longest time. Make sense?

Hair Dye Problems!?

Ok, for starters the hair that you highlighted is your problem, if you use only ash brown when you color your hair dark brown I am guessing a level 5 your highlights will be green, not very attractive, understand when you take the pigment out of hair, keep in mind when you want to put it back, you have to put both gold and ash. I would tell you to refer to your color wheel, but you wouldn't know what i am talking about. I would suggest semi or demi permanent color, I think you might be using a permanent color. that may be why you are getting a light gold brown, the color is lifting as well as depositing, you only need deposit, although demi lifts enough to open the cuticle so that your color last longer ,with very little notice of regrowth. I suggest the nearest salon, but if you plan on doing it yourself good luck keep in mind neutral would be my choice.

I've had a hair disaster! Someone please help!?

I dye my hair every 2 months or so and have been for the last year and a half. My natural hair colour is medium brown/light brown. My hair up until 3 hours ago was long and blonde.

I wanted to see what it would be like if it was my natural colour again so I bought some semi-permanent die, brown colour.

When I washed it out to my horror it turned jet black.

I want to know, if I go to a hairdresser to get it bleached and dyed professionally, will it cause any damage to my hair? This is the first time i've dyed it again since 3 months ago, and it's semi permanent, but I still think it will stain. I usually dye my hair once every 2-3 months.

Someone please help?

Shave your head and be a "non-racist" skinhead for awhile, and when it grows back, it'll be the natural or "default" color which you can then dye bright pink if you so desire.

Keep messing with it and you will either end up having to shave your head or it will fall out on it's own.

I've had a hair disaster! Someone please help!?

It will not ruin your hair, but you should purchase a good hydrating shampoo from the salon to help re-hydrate your hair. Most salon dye's are actually conditioning and good for your hair.If you try to lighten it yourself there is a great possibility it will turn orange.

Hair Dye Dilemma?

Back in February, I bleached my dark brown hair to white and dyed over it with manic panic/special effects blue. In April/May I dyed over the faded blue with Dark brown and it came out a bit too dark. Now, last month (june and july) I tried going back to my natural colour of brownish red/auburn and it only dyes my roots, evne though the brown faded, it stays brown.

Was it the blue and brown fusing together to create black that I have to stripe down? Because now I have red roots and dark brown hair, it looks really bad. Should I seek the help of a specialist to get my natural hair colour back? Or do it myself with an at home bleaching kit?

Hair Dye Dilemma?

Absolutely go to a professional. You need to get the dye that you put in your hair before professionally stripped out--and be sure to tell them your history of dying AND all of the brands of hair dye you used. If you get another bleach kit I can almost guarantee a LOT of hair is going to fall out. Basically the same thing happened to me, and had my mother not forced me to go to a professional my hair would not be as long as it is now... ha.

How to get my hair curly/wavy???

My hair is about 3 inches longer than my shoulders. My natural hair seems to be caught in between wavy and curly. I like my natural hair...when it's wet. As it dries, it completely poofs and looks like a giant triangle!! I straighten my hair about once a week and wear it down... but I normally throw it in a pony tail. Is there a way to wear my hair in soft pretty waves or curls?? I've tried cloth rollers and those make my hair a bit too SPRINGY. im looking more for a softer look. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!!

How to get my hair curly/wavy???

to get that wet wavy look definetely try...."Pantene curl scruching spray gel" or "Nexus VersaStyler artistic designing lotion"....but my fav is the pantene (lasts all day)....even w/ my hair dry, i just spray it all over my hair and scrunch and style it with my fingers....it works great!!

How to get my hair curly/wavy???

yes, try a curling iron. they work well and I use Sunsilk Anti-Poof Conitioner which de-triangles the shape of my poofball hair. I usually straighten mine though.

How to get my hair curly/wavy???

Same as mine, i usually straighten it, but ocaisionally i will straighten it then lightly curl it (with a curling iron). Its just lose waves (and it looks amazing), and u must try it, it looks really nice!

Good Luck

How to get my hair curly/wavy???

You're asking me?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

How to get my hair curly/wavy???

get a perm or get a curling iron. But the perms better for your hair but it has to last almost a year.

How to get my hair curly/wavy???

buy some garnier fructis scrunch spray and spray it in your hair while it is still wet from the shower (make sure you scrunch it with your fingers it though, don't just spray it) ... let it air dry and that should work, that's what i do with mine. when you style it the way you want it use aussie sprunch spray as a hair spray.

New hair color is too dark?

I colored my hair last night. I chose a slightly darker color than I've been using. My natural hair color is dark brown almost black.

I have been dying my hair a light auburn for nearly 5 years. I wanted a more brown to my hair so I chose a light golden brown

I thought it would tone down the cooper in my hair color. The color ended up almost a dark brown with a few red highlights.

How soon could I color my hair again. I'm about ready to buy a wig or a borrow one of my husband's ball caps. Thank you for any advice.

New hair color is too dark?

go to a salon trust me its all worth it

New hair color is too dark?

That is the reason most women get their hair colored at salon, they are educated in colors (its a science, when you think about it). I would say go visit your sylist she should be able to fix your hair without all the damage you would do yourself at home.

New hair color is too dark?

salon

New hair color is too dark?

Wash your hair with a strong dandruff shampoo for a few days...it will fade. Then go to the salon and let them do the rest. hair color will fade in the first week.

New hair color is too dark?

You could color your hair tomorrow night actually, its your choice. I have colored my hair at home 3 times with 2 days inbetween before.

New hair color is too dark?

Go to your stylist for help! please do not try the over the counter color removers. they are not strong enough and you probably can't get it on evenly. your hair will turn orange to chicken yellow and be blotchy. then you will have to pay your stylist 2-3 times what you would have normally paid in the first place to have it corrected. if you want to try another color try an ash, don't be scared the green will neutralize the red in the color. remember, color doesn't lift color.
